Tajima Embroidery Machine: What You Should Know?

Wondering if the Tajima embroidery machine is ‘okay’ for you?

Are you still confused about buying the perfect embroidery machine for your embroidery business?

Well, you’ve done the right thing by coming here. Because we will clarify the things for you in this article by thoroughly examining the aspects of this machine.

Once we’re done here, you’ll know what you need to finalize your decision while you’re considering your options. Let’s jump right in!

Basically, Tajima provides two types of machines;

 1. TAJIMA’s SINGLE-HEAD MACHINES

Tajima built these single-head embroidery machines in such a way that they gained such a reputation that is practically unbeatable. Their build quality is built to the standards of old days, built to last, and combined with the updated technology and science. This combination of the qualities of the old and the new is what drives Tajima to be the best in the industry of embroidery machines.

 2. TAJIMA’s MULTI-HEAD MACHINES

The same thing can be said about multi-head machines. It is also true for multi-head machines that are true for single-headed Tajimasbut on a wider and bigger scale. Multi-head Tajima machines increase your output, hence your profits and the productivity. And when combined with the shortest order to supply time, makes it a win-win situation.

As you’re looking for embroidery machines for business, you may already know that an embroidery machine has to pass some parameters to be regarded as a good for value.

Below we will discuss those parameters in terms of a Tajima embroidery machine. And how they perform.

Cost

We’re focusing the cost at first as this is the question we frequently receive. The cost for the Tajima embroidery machines is generally quite high compared to other machines in the market. So be prepared. It will hover around $14000-$18000.

Keep this in mind that we’re showing the MSRP here. And the actual price will vary on who sells it and where it is sold. Depends on your dealer how much they will charge extra for a package with attachments.

Needles

A Tajima embroidery machine for business purposes usually has about 15 needles. The Tajima NeoPlus is a single-head machine with the least number of needles. The reason why it’s important to look at the number of needles is because,

  • If the machine has more needles then the machine’s efficiency will be much higher.
  • If your machine contains more needles, then you won’t be needing to swap the thread everytime you want to do embroidery of different colors and then rethread it again.

 Digitizing Software

Most brands provide some kind of digitizing software when you purchase as does Tajima. Their digitizing software is Pulse. Usually, it’s the basic version for you to edit readymade digitized designs. If you’re buying this for business use, then you probably won’t be needing full digitizing.

Most likely, minimal editing will be needed, which you definitely can achieve with basic versions. You can purchase the main version of the embroidery software, but it will prove to be pointless if you are going to outsource your digitizing.

Embroidery Designs

However you are starting your business, you’ll want lots of designs with variation at your desk. As for Tajima embroidery machines, the picture isn’t so good in this part. Only about 100 designs are given meaning you’ll need to spend extra bucks on embroidery designs if you happen to buy a Tajima.

However, actually, it doesn’t matter the number of embroidery designs you’ll get with the machine. Because you’ll be using custom created designs created by you or the digitizing service. So eventually you’ll be depending upon the digitized designs from scratch rather than the designs of the machine companies provide.

 Cap Attachment

If you need to embroider caps, you’ll be needing a cap attachment. Tajima’s embroidery machines have a 270-degree wide cap frame.

Unfortunately, the cap attachment isn’t included in the package. Customers will have to pay extra for the attachment for cap embroidery. Cap attachments for Tajima machines can cost as high as $1,500.

 Speed

Maximum embroidery speed is vital. Why? Because it will definitely help you to determine how soon you are able to finish a project. Completing projects faster means you’re looking forward to a successful embroidery business. You will definitely want to that.

In this case, Tajima’s embroidery machines are at 1,200 stitches/minute, which is pretty much the standard speed for embroidery machines for business purposes.

Flat Hoops

You will embroider your design within this flat hoops. These are the actual frames. If you’re a beginner in doing machine embroidery, you are going to need these flat hoops so as to supporting your fabric and to prepare it for doing machine embroidery.

The Tajima embroidery machine provides 10 flat hoops with the package. Most embroidery machine dealers will provide you the flat hoops with the embroidery machine package. So find a dealer who does.

Cap Hoops/Rings

Cap hoops or rings are part of the cap attachment of embroidery machine. In this case, you have to add extra for bucks for cap hoops. Because Tajima doesn’t provide cap attachments with the package. So, of course, you’ll not get a cap hoop before you buy a cap attachment.

Tajima embroidery machine dealers will provide 2 cap hoops during your purchase of the cap attachment.

Control Panel

The control panel size is more like a cosmetic feature. It might prove to be very vital if you want a clean and easy to see the operating screen. The Tajima embroidery machine has a screen 6.5 inches, which is pretty standard compared to others.

Warranty

Warranty period is pretty standard throughout. For Tajima, it’s usually 2 years. Again, don’t forget to check it out on the store you are buying from.

Maximum Embroidery Area

This is one of the most vital embroidery machine features because it determines the variety of fabric you’ll be able to embroider.

This is the area of the sewing field. It varies with brand. Tajima has an average area for their machines. It is 19.5*14 inches.

Remember,

  • Larger sewing field means a wider variety of custom designs. And that means more garment embroidery can be done.

Limited embroidery area means a small range of designs and projects. If you’re buying machines for business then it must have an embroidery area large enough to comply with the needs of your customers that ask for designs and projects of all kinds of sizes.

Memory Size

This is the built-in memory of any embroidery machine. Tajima embroidery machines have around 2 million stitches of memory size per head which is pretty less than its competitors.

Remember,

  • A machine with larger memory has more capacity to save more designs. Which will reduce the time you need to spend to import and delete designs from the memory of the embroidery machine.
  • Because of that larger memory sizes are more common in embroidery machines for business compared to home embroidery machines.

Memory size is vital mainly as it increases the efficiency by cutting the time down that is spent while going back and forth to upload and delete designs. For example, if you have a continuous client, you want to keep their information in the machine’s memory.

Usability

This points to the longevity of the embroidery machine which indicates how long it will last in the long run. And how long the embroidery machine is supposed to run. People starting an embroidery business will buy commercial grade machines for embroidery business rather than home embroidery machines.

Customers are seen satisfied with the longevity as these machines tend to work for decades.

However, some starts with home embroidery machines to gain experience and to take a small and less complex step towards embroidery. Later, when they gain enough confidence they’ll upgrade and buy a Tajima commercial embroidery machine since they are built to last longer than home embroidery machines.

These are designed and constructed to run continuously and daily, and not surprisingly has more efficiency. These are a must if you want a really profitable and successful business.

Final Takeaway

Now that you got to know the key parameters and how Tajima performs in those for a commercial embroidery machine, you now have all the information you’re going to need to take a step and choose the perfect machine for your future projects. Remember to choose the embroidery machine that will fit your needs so that you don’t have to regret later.

This embroidery machine review is for the single-head Tajima commercial embroidery machines and is up-to-date. You need to talk to dealers and gain first-hand experience to know how the single-head and multi-heads perform in action.

Tajima is a well-renowned brand with a high reputation, though its machines are more costly than its competitors they are literally mechanical workhorses.

the quality of the work that tajima provides is really really good. But one thing should be known that the price is too much excessive. such beginners and the household users mostly could not afford such at a great price.

Just wanted to correct a couple of pieces of misinformation…

    1) The Tajima Singlehead model with the fewest needles is now the Tajima SAI. It was released to the public last winter.

    2) Cap attachments are included with EVERY Tajima embroidery machine at NO extra cost. You actually get 2 cap attachments per head, so you would get 12 for a 6 head machine, for example.

I just wanted to be sure your readers are getting the best information.

Hi. I’m just wondering if tajima has come out with a model with dual side capability. Meaning, if let’s says I’m embroidering 20 shirts on a 20 head machine, I can prepare the next 20 shirts on the other side. So as soon as the first 20 shirts are done, the embroidery head will immediately shift to the next 20 on the other side and start embroidering. Does tajima have this kind of machines? If yes, what particular model number?

Hi. I sent you a message 2 days ago inquiring about the 20 heads embroidery machine with dual side capability. Dual side meaning while the machine is embroidering 20 pieces on one side, preparation or laying out of the other 20 pieces can be done on the other side. And as soon as the embroidering on the 20 pieces on the first side is done, the embroidery head will instantly shift to the other side and start embroidering the next 20 pieces on the opposite side. Do you have this embroidery machine with this capability? What particular model number? This is my second email regarding this matter? So please kindly respond. Thank you.
