He graduated from the prestigious Central St Martins College of Art & Design in London with a BA in Men's Fashion Design in 1986. In 1989 he graduated from the Royal College of Art in London with a Master's in Men's Fashion. He then went onto work for Gucci, Prada and Armani before being named a Creative Director for Puma in 2003. In 2006 Neil Barrett launched his Indigo Denim Collection for men and women.
